Linda Mar Water Quality Coalition

The Linda Mar Water Quality Coalition includes Surfrider San Mateo, Salted Roots, San Pedro Creek Watershed Coalition (SPCWC), Cultivar Foundation and the Pedro Point Surf Club. We test the mouth of San Pedro Creek at Linda Mar Beach and upstream on the creek for fecal bacteria every week.

Beach Bummer!!

Linda Mar Beach is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the Bay Area, yet every year is listed as one of the most polluted in California. The beach routinely fails to meet state and federal standards for fecal bacteria in recreational waters. This is due to San Pedro Creek, which acts as a storm sewer for the Linda Mar section of Pacifica.
Safer Surfing & Recreation

1. Surf away from the mouth of the creek. From the Taco Bell north is usually safe except after storms.
2. Please don't let your kids play in the creek!
